The Sunraysia-Riverland region produces a significant portion of Australia's horticultural production:
- over 50% wine grapes
- 75% table grapes
- almost all dried grapes
- 45% of citrus
and a large range of vegetables, stonefruit, nuts, garlic and olives.
Production, processing, transport and marketing form a supply chain network throughout the Sunraysia-Riverland region.
Linkages include a large number of fruit packers and processors, wineries and transport companies. Marketing companies also operate in the region, implementing sales of fresh fruit to the domestic and international markets.
Grower representative organisations and peak industry bodies are located in the region. Riverlink and industry partnerships are essential to the planning and implementation of horticultural research projects.
